EPOS Meeting 2015

In 2015, the EPOS/EADV Task Force on OSD meeting took place on Friday, 9 October 2015 in Copenhagen (Denmark) within the framework of the 24th EADV Congress in Copenhagen, together with the EADV Task Force on Occupational Skin Diseases. As ever, a diverse group of experts in occupational dermatology and allergology has come together to take time to gather and reflect insights. EPOS Meeting 2014

The EPOS/Task Force on OSD met on 11 Ocotber 2014 on the occasion of the 23rd EADV Congress in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Please see the agenda for more details about the meeting.

A number of Task Force members have joined COST Action StanDerm and are actively involved in the working groups.

National activities running in Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia and Germany were presented, including the impressive rise of notifications by 30 % (in Germany) due to the campaign and the drop of numbers of job loss due to early interventions.

EPOS Meeting 2013

In 2013, the EPOS Scientific Exchange meeting was held in Istanbul (Turkey) on 5 October within the framework of the 22nd EADV Congress in Istanbul, together with the EADV Task Force on Occupational Skin Diseases. Please see the agenda for more details about the key topics of the meeting.

One important news is that the EU project “Occupational health and safety in the hairdressing sector – Implementing the European framework agreement” (SafeHair 1.0 and 2.0), involving a number of EPOS members, has been successfully terminated. A multilingual web platform (tool box) with information regarding prevention of occupational skin diseases for hairdressers, in particular addressing apprentices, has been established: www.safehair.eu.

It is a great achievement for EPOS/EADV Task Force on OSD that Horizon 2020 has accepted the application for a scientific network called StanDerm (Development and Implementation of European Standards on Prevention of Occupational Dermatoses), which was launched in June 2013 and runs until end of May 2017. Two Action representatives presented in brief StanDerm's objectives. The Action is also very much welcomed by the EU Commission, by the European Agency of Safety and Health and by WHO and ILO. The EPOS/EADV Task Force continuously supports the EU social dialogue to gain further followers in Europe; a number of meetings took place in 2013 involving EPOS members, e.g. in Madrid (25 April), Warsaw (19-20 June), and Vilnius (26 -27 September). Further social dialogue meetings will be held in Dublin on 24 October as well as in Brussel on 27 January 2014.

Furthermore, it was decided that EPOS meetings will be held together with the meetings of the EADV Task Force on Occupational Dermatoses during every EADV Annual Congress. EPOS members who are not yet EADV members are invited to become EADV members.

EPOS Meeting 2012

The EPOS meeting in 2012 was held at the 21st EADV Congress in Prague (Czech Republic) on Thursday 27 September. Please see the agenda for more details.

The meeting included an update on EADV europrevention "healthy skin@work " campaign national acitivties in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, and Sweden. Prof. G.S. Tiplica was pleased to report that an established network exists in Romania with the involvement of most university clinics and partners such as the Romanian Medical Association and Romanian Society of Dermatology as well as industrial sponsors. Furthermore, Prof. Tiplica proposed the introduction of a registry for OSD in Europe.

EPOS Meeting 2011

In 2011, the EPOS meeting was held on the occasion of the 20th EADV Congress (20-24 October) in Lisbon, Portugal. The agenda included updates on national campaigns. One good news is that the EPOS network has increased to more than 90 members from 30 countries. Experts from Hungary, Macedonia and Croatia have joined our network recently. We are also delighted to welcome experts from Asia, Australia and Northern America within our network and believe that EPOS is growing strong both at EU-level and internationally.
